Abstract: Regenerative medicine is a fast-evolving discipline that has the potential to revolutionize healthcare through replacements or reparations of damaged tissues and organs. Stem cell therapy and tissue engineering have been the focus of regenerative medicine research and development in Malaysia. However, several challenges related to this field of medicine need to be addressed. Therefore, several different measures had been taken by the Malaysian government includes establishment of the National Committee on Stem Cell Research and Therapy and the issuance of guidelines for the use of stem cells in clinical practice to ensure a better development of the regenerative medicine filed in Malaysia.
