A. Submission Related
Q : What are the requirements for the submission in JAPA?
JAPA welcomes any manuscripts to be published (Original Articles, Review Articles, Commentaries, Case Report, Letters to the Editor). The manuscripts must follow the scope of the journal’s coverage. You can read in detail on the JAPA Homepage
Q : How do I submit my manuscript with JAPA?
The authors are welcome to read our Journal Guidelines & Policies or click here for checklist and preparation of documents before manuscript submission. Q : How much does it cost to publish in JAPA?
JAPA charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted manuscripts. The APC is RM 500 or USD 150 per accepted manuscript. Payment can be made through online transfer. Please click here for further information on payment procedures.
Q : Can we split APC payment among multiple authors?
Yes, you can but it is under your group discussion. We only collect the total amount from the corresponding author and give the receipt of payment to the corresponding author.
Q : Is there any page limit for writing articles?
Page limit varies with types of manuscripts (Original Articles, Review Articles, Commentaries, Case Report, Letters to the Editor). Click here to find out more.
B. Publication Related
Q : How frequently JAPA publish in a year?
JAPA will publish at least three times a year.
Q : How do I get my paper published in JAPA?
All submissions to JAPA undergo peer review by at least two reviewers. Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts to address reviewers’ comments. Revised manuscripts should be resubmitted within the specified timeline before a final decision on acceptance is made. Please refer to the manuscript submission guidelines here for more information.
Q : Where is JAPA indexed?
At present, JAPA is indexed by MyJurnal
Q : Does JAPA have impact factor?
No. The Journal Citation Reports (JCR) Impact Factor is calculated based on citation data from indexed journals over a defined period, and eligibility requires indexing in specific international databases. At present, JAPA does not have an Impact Factor as it is still in its early development stage with a limited number of published articles. The journal is working towards meeting the requirements for future indexing and eligibility.
C. Others
Q : Can I submit a manuscript that was published elsewhere?
Submission of an article that has been published previously will violate the terms and policies of the Committee of Publication Ethics (COPE). Submission of an article implies that the work described has not been published previously (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis).
